Anyone who owns an e-car has had the opportunity to receive an environmental bonus since 2023. You get money for the proof of CO2 savings and renewable electricity used by charging the electric and hybrid vehicle.

The flat-rate estimated value for determining the ePremium in Austria is 1500 kWh per year. If you have charged more than 1500 kWh of electricity for your e-vehicle in one year and can also prove this, you will receive a higher ePremium for each additional kWh.

Evidence of the amount of electricity loaded can be:

If the vehicle is part of private assets, the proceeds from the sale of the ePremium cannot be assigned to any type of income. Payments received are therefore "private" and not subject to income tax.

If the vehicle is part of the business assets, payments received are to be classified as business income and thus as part of the profit. So they are taxable.We recommend that you ask your tax advisor directly if necessary.

It is an annually recurring payment. You can apply for the ePremium once a year for each electric vehicle.
